Kathleen Siminyu

She is a Kenyan researcher specialising in artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP) for African languages.

She worked as a Machine Learning Fellow at the Mozilla Foundation, where she contributed to the development of the Kiswahili Common Voice speech corpus and to the design of speech recognition and transcription models for real-world applications, particularly in the agriculture and finance sectors.

His work aims to strengthen the presence of African languages in digital technologies and to promote AI that is more inclusive and reflective of the realities of the continent.
