She is an internationally renowned Senegalese researcher specialising in artificial intelligence, machine learning and statistics. An assistant professor of computer science at Princeton University, she heads the Vertaix Laboratory, which is dedicated to research at the intersection of AI and the natural sciences. She is also a research scientist at Google and the founder of the non-profit organisation The Africa I Know (TAIK), which promotes careers in science and technology amongst young Africans. As the first Black woman to teach at Princeton’s School of Engineering and the first Black person in the university’s Department of Computer Science, Adji Bousso Dieng is recognised as one of the most influential African voices in the field of artificial intelligence.
