Fatou Lo Niang

Fatou Lo Niang is a Senegalese researcher specialising in artificial intelligence applied to healthcare. As a PhD student in applied computer science, she focuses her research on the use of AI for the prevention and management of cardiovascular diseases. She holds a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications networks and maintenance, as well as a master’s degree in computer systems. She is a laureate of the 2023 L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science programme and a recipient of the 2020 iLEAD Young Innovator Grant. Her work aims to develop decision-support tools that enable cardiologists to predict cardiovascular risks at an early stage through the analysis of medical data.
