The GRAIN network (Gender and Responsible Artificial Intelligence Network) is organising a training session on Friday 21 February 2025, from 10.00 to 13.00 GMT on the Zoom platform, to build the capacity of stakeholders on the topic of artificial intelligence and gender. This virtual workshop will serve as a platform to raise awareness and equip participants with best practices, whilst fostering dialogue and constructive discussion. The aim is to enhance the knowledge of stakeholders within the ecosystem regarding the integration of gender into AI-related initiatives.
Specifically, the aim will be to identify gender bias in AI-based solutions; to propose approaches for a more inclusive and equitable AI; and to raise awareness of the importance of taking gender into account when developing technological solutions.
The training is aimed at researchers and practitioners in the field of AI, civil society organisations, academics and technical experts, and members of the GRAIN network.
As a reminder, the GRAIN network aims to function as a “space for collaboration”, bringing together local stakeholders with the necessary expertise – whether from for-profit or non-profit organisations, academia, governments or research institutions – in order to foster sustainable self-sufficiency by building on existing capacities.
By the end of this training course, participants are expected to have gained a better understanding of concepts relating to AI and gender; a compilation of participants’ feedback via post-training evaluations or questionnaires; and a report summarising the discussions and recommendations arising from the training, amongst other things.
