Online Training Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Gender

On Friday 21 February 2025, from 10am to 1pm GMT, the GRAIN (Gender and Responsible Artificial Intelligence Network) is organising a training session on the Zoom platform to build the capacity of players in the field of gender and artificial intelligence. This virtual workshop will provide a platform for raising awareness and equipping participants with the best practices to adopt, while encouraging dialogue and constructive exchanges. The aim is to increase the knowledge of players in the ecosystem about gender mainstreaming in AI-related initiatives.

Specifically, the aim will be to identify gender bias in AI-based solutions; to propose approaches for more inclusive and equitable AI; and to raise awareness of the importance of taking gender into account in the development of technological solutions.

The course is aimed at AI researchers and practitioners, civil society organisations, academics and technical experts, and members of the GRAIN network.

As a reminder, the GRAIN network aims to function as a "collaborative space", bringing together local stakeholders with the necessary expertise, whether from for-profit or not-for-profit organisations, academia, government or research institutions, to enable sustainable self-sufficiency by building on existing capacity.

At the end of the course, participants are expected to have a better understanding of AI and gender-related concepts; to compile feedback from participants via post-training evaluations or questionnaires; and to produce a report summarising the discussions and recommendations arising from the course, among other things.
