Call for papers for the first edition of the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence for Women in Agriculture

The first edition of the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence for Women in Agriculture will take place from October 23 - 25, 2023 in hybrid mode at Kwara State university, Malete on the theme ‘’AI-Enhanced Climate Smart Farming: Towards Empowering African Women Farmers”.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is heralded as a potential remedy for the persistent challenges faced by African agriculture. The application of AI holds vast promise in addressing the pressing issues exacerbated by climate change within the context of rain-fed African agriculture. This potential is undeniable and can significantly contribute to achieving the global Sustainable Development Goals.

This conference aims to convene specialists in Gender Studies, AI Experts and Agriculture, representing diverse backgrounds from Industry, Academia and Research. Agricultural producers, organizations and NGOs focused on Agricultural Technology transfer and Women's Development will also be part of this dynamic gathering.

The event will serve as a platform for women farmers, AI experts, Academia, and Researchers to collaborate, exchange insights, and develop gender-appropriate AI solutions tailored to the challenges posed by climate change on women's farming activities. The ultimate goal is to enhance the resilience of African women farmers and effectively combat the adverse effects of climate change through improved farming practices.

Academic Papers, as well as poster presentations, which will proffer practicable recommendations and workable solutions, are invited from the underlisted sub-themes:

The conference programme committee invites authors to submit poster presentation and or full papers/work in progress in any of the fields listed in the sub-themes. Papers should be submitted to ai4wia.grain@gmail.com . The submission should follow APA format, 12 fonts Times New Roman, with normal margin.

Papers presented during the conference will be considered for publication in the next volume of the Technoscience Journal for Community Development in Africa, published jointly published by the Faculties of Agriculture, Engineering, Information & Communication Technology and Pure & Applied Sciences of Kwara State University, Nigeria.
