Ms Ndèye Fatou Mboup, an expert in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and research assistant at IPAR, has been chosen by the Ministry of Communication, Telecommunications and the Digital Economy to represent Senegal and Africa at the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI), along with two other Senegalese experts.
Ms Mboup is a member of the GPAI group of experts in charge of innovation and marketing, the youngest expert in this global partnership and the only woman from Africa.
The Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) is an international, multi-stakeholder initiative to guide the responsible development and use of AI, in a spirit of respect for human rights, inclusion, diversity, innovation and economic growth.
As a reminder, Ndèye Fatou Mboup is a serial entrepreneur specialising in the creation of digital solutions to solve global problems (based on the SDGs). She is a big data engineer, certified in solar and satellite systems.
Bronze medallist at the Challenge Innovation Forum global competition in Qatar, Ndeye Fatou is also..:
- the "1st Miss Geek Senegal (Mademoiselle Génie Sénégal)" in the history of Senegal;
- African vice-champion in ICT (New Information and Communication Technologies)
- the first Senegalese talent to take part in the Africa Innovation Fellowship.
- The recipient of the Impact'Elles prize in the Revelation category, which rewards women leaders for their commitment, innovation, expertise and impact on their communities, was organised by Senegal's Réussir Business Group magazine.
In all, she has received more than 17 national and international awards for new technologies and leadership. She also won the national competition for the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), organised by the Ministry of Telecommunications and the Digital Economy - WSIS World Finalist organised by the IUT (WSIS Prizes).
She is the first Miss Geek in Senegal's history in 2018.
A Big Data graduate from ISM's Digital Campus, Ndeye Fatou Mboup, representing Senegal, was initially ranked in the Top 5 in the Smart Agriculture category, before finally winning the bronze medal, 3rd prize in the competition, behind Malaysia and Sweden.
