On 5 and 6 June 2025 in Abidjan, under the High Patronage of the First Lady, Dominique Ouattara, ADWIN (African and African Descendant Women Impact Network) was launched, the world\u2019s first artificial intelligence-based platform dedicated to empowering one million African women and their descendants by 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Much more than a traditional network, ADWIN presents itself as a global movement aimed at uniting women around a vision of equality. Launched by \u00c9lisabeth Moreno \u2013 former French Minister for Gender Equality \u2013 alongside prominent figures such as Prescillia Avenel-Delpha and Euphrasie Kouassi Yao, adviser to the Prime Minister of C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, the platform also enjoys the support of the First Ladies of Cape Verde and Congo-Brazzaville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Built on five pillars, ADWIN incorporates powerful AI components for each area. Win Skills offers personalised learning tailored to users\u00ab aspirations. Win Confidence promotes mentoring by pairing experienced leaders with young talent. The next step will be the launch of Win Capital, an intelligent agent designed to identify funding opportunities. Added to these are Win Well, for holistic wellbeing, and finally Win Heritage, a programme dedicated to promoting Africa\u2019s cultural heritage through unbiased data \u2013 the latter being described as \u00bbthe most important pillar \u2019 according to Morad el Mezyani, the project\u2019s AI expert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a pressing need for such initiatives: despite a high rate of female entrepreneurship (26 %), less than 1 % of global venture capital funding goes to Black female entrepreneurs, with an estimated pay gap of 30 % and a maternal mortality rate of 542 per 100,000 births. Against this backdrop, \u00c9lisabeth Moreno emphasised that ADWIN was not \u00abjust another network, but a global movement harnessing collective power\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, at the launch event at the Sofitel Ivoire, cultural figures such as Queen Olori Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi symbolised the link between tradition and modernity, reinforcing the pan-African and diaspora dimensions of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
