of experts on artificial intelligence as a lever for development in Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Monday 15 May 2023 in Saly, the IPAR took part in a \"panel of experts on artificial intelligence as a lever for development in Africa\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Organised by UNICEF, the aim of the panel was to discuss in greater depth the research and progress made in the use of new technologies in the region, and how they can be used as levers for sustainable and inclusive development in Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The IPAR, represented by Ms Seynabou Sall, data expert and project manager, and Ms Tabara Korka Ndiaye, Research Assistant in the GRAIN (Gender and Responsible Artificial Intelligence Network) project, gave a presentation on \"Responsible AI and its responsible use to ensure that it does not increase the gender gap and the digital divide, but instead becomes a tool for inclusion in Africa\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IPAR's intervention also focused on governance issues and advocacy in favour of policies and regulations to which UNICEF and development stakeholders could contribute to ensure that the rights of African children are taken into account in the field of digital and emerging technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The importance of partnerships with research institutes (such as IPAR) to promote research and innovation around child protection
