Constitu\u00e9 de trois organismes de recherche africains, \u00e0 savoir le think tank IPAR, le Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa (CSEA) bas\u00e9 au Nig\u00e9ria et\u00a0 Sunbird AI \u00e9tablie en Ouganda, ce r\u00e9seau vise \u00e0 faire \u00e9voluer l\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 des sexes et l\u2019inclusion en Afrique Sub-Saharienne par le d\u00e9veloppement de syst\u00e8mes intelligents \u00e0 travers un d\u00e9ploiement local et responsable.<br><br> \u00c0 l\u2019initiative du think tank IPAR, un atelier de travail est organis\u00e9 du 28 juin au 1er Juillet 2022, avec les autres membres du consortium, pour engager la r\u00e9flexion sur les diff\u00e9rents aspects de la mise en place d\u2019un r\u00e9seau sur l\u2019Intelligence Artificielle et l\u2019inclusion du genre en Afrique. Plus sp\u00e9cifiquement, l\u2019atelier avait pour objectifs de\u00a0: <br><br>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Etablir le cadre du r\u00e9seau GRAIN, sur la base des principes d\u2019inclusivit\u00e9 et de durabilit\u00e9, avec les 3 institutions du consortium qui vont constituer son noyau dur ; Elaborer un agenda de recherche sur l\u2019IA responsable \u0153uvrant pour l\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 des sexes et l\u2019inclusion (respect appropri\u00e9 des groupes vuln\u00e9rables, tels que les femmes) et un cadre de collaboration avec les institutions du projet GRAIN ; <\/li><br>\n\n<li>Valider le processus et la conception de l\u2019appel \u00e0 propositions sur des projets de recherche sur l\u2019IA et l\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 genre. Anim\u00e9 par Mme Sonja Betschart, de WeRobotics (Suisse), partenaire technique du r\u00e9seau, l\u2019atelier a vu la participation de Dr Adedeji Adeniran du CSEA (Nig\u00e9ria), Dr Ernest Mwebaze de Sunbird AI (Ouganda) et de chercheurs de l\u2019IPAR qui interviennent dans le cadre de ce projet.\u00a0Ces acteurs ont engag\u00e9 une r\u00e9flexion soutenue autour de la strat\u00e9gie de GRAIN, sa vision et ses missions ainsi que sur le mod\u00e8le de gestion, d\u2019affiliation et de gouvernance du r\u00e9seau. La strat\u00e9gie adopt\u00e9e pour le r\u00e9seau est fortement inspir\u00e9e de celle de WeRobotics, un organisme bas\u00e9 en Suisse qui soutient la mise en place \u00e0 travers le monde de centres de connaissances ind\u00e9pendants (Flying labs) pour tirer parti de l&#8217;expertise existante dans les drones, les donn\u00e9es, la robotique et l&#8217;IA. Cette strat\u00e9gie est structur\u00e9e autour des trois principaux axes suivants : Un r\u00e9seau pour cr\u00e9er de la valeur et inciter d\u2019autres membres \u00e0 le rejoindre\u00a0;\u00a0<\/li><br>\n<li> Une structure de pouvoir d\u00e9centralis\u00e9 avec une organisation du bas vers le haut\u00a0; Un r\u00e9seau qui va partir d\u2019un apprentissage collectif, de partage ouvert inspir\u00e9 du mod\u00e8le des Flying Labs pour cr\u00e9er ensemble un cadre innovant et inclusif. Le r\u00e9seau GRAIN aura un programme sp\u00e9cialement d\u00e9di\u00e9 \u00e0 la recherche et devrait produire des agendas et des documents de recherche de qualit\u00e9. Il cr\u00e9era \u00e9galement des outils de communication et de plaidoyer pour une IA responsable en faveur de l&#8217;\u00e9galit\u00e9 des sexes et de l\u2019inclusion.
