By responsible AI, we mean equity in the use of data, the creation of algorithms, frameworks for expertise, and policies governing AI practice. Our network addresses cross-cutting issues relating to AI, gender equality and development. The network focuses on sub-Saharan Africa, with a medium-term objective of gender inclusion and a longer-term objective of gender equality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The GRAIN network is part of the AI4D programme, and its initial phase is supported by the International Development Research Centre in Canada and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We focus on gender and other context-related factors of exclusion, and their intersection with responsible AI.
